The American Resort Development Association (ARDA) is an industry leader in advocating members' interests, providing advanced professional education opportunities, educating the teleservices industry, and acting as the industry's information clearinghouse. ARDA is the Washington, D.C.-based trade association representing the vacation ownership and resort development industries. Established in 1969 as the American Land Development Association, ARDA today has close to 1000 members, ranging from privately held companies to major corporations, in the U.S. and overseas. ARDA's diverse membership includes companies with interest in vacation ownership resorts, community development, fractional ownership, camp resorts, land development, lot sales, second home and resort communities. Members range from small, privately held firms to publicly traded companies and international corporations. -

Forrester Research estimates that 32% of hotels‟ revenues come through online bookings. This includes brand.com bookings and those made through third-party websites such as Expedia and Priceline. Forrester Research also estimates that the overall travel industry allocates 29% of its marketing budget to online, including search, display, mobile, social and so on. Travel allocates more of its budget to online media than any other industry. Approximately 62% of a travel company‟s interactive marketing budget is currently allocated to search engine marketing.
