2010 World Youth and Student Travel Conference (WYSTC)

The World Youth & Student Travel Conference is the most important trade event of the year for the global youth, student and educational travel industry. In October 2010, WYSTC will be hosted in China for the first time ever, bringing together all of the niche markets and diverse organisations that serve today’s young traveller.
Fastest Growing Sector in Travel | Study abroad, language travel, cultural exchange, adventure travel, gap year, and work exchange are all part of the travel industry’s fastest growing sector; representing over 20% of all international visitors. According to the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), every fourth traveller will soon be a young person. The latest study on young independent travellers was presented by the WYSE Travel Confederation at WYSTC 2007.
The World Youth Student & Educational (WYSE) Travel Confederation is a dynamic, professionally managed not-for-profit organisation, comprising 550+ members, representing the global community of youth travel, student travel and international education specialists.
With a network of 5000 locations in 118 countries, Confederation members provide international travel and educational experiences for more than 10 million students and youth each year.

Forrester Research estimates that 32% of hotels‟ revenues come through online bookings. This includes brand.com bookings and those made through third-party websites such as Expedia and Priceline. Forrester Research also estimates that the overall travel industry allocates 29% of its marketing budget to online, including search, display, mobile, social and so on. Travel allocates more of its budget to online media than any other industry. Approximately 62% of a travel company‟s interactive marketing budget is currently allocated to search engine marketing.
