Hotel Room Costs Same As 7 Years Ago | hotels.com survey reveals
The average cost of a hotel room around the world rose 2% in 2010, according to the Hotels.com® Hotel Price Index™ (HPI®). The increase was the first time that the average hotel room price rose year-on-year since 2007. However, prices fell so low during 2009 after a 13% drop that despite last year's modest increase, the average price of a room is still the same now as it was in 2004.

Middle East/Africa January 2011 results (STR)
The Middle East/Africa region reported increases in all three key performance measurements during January 2011 when reported in U.S. dollars, according to data compiled by STR Global. The region's occupancy ended the month with a 6.2-percent increase to 57.5 percent, average daily rate rose 4.6 percent to US$172.26, and revenue per available room went up 11.2 percent to US$99.02.
