Days Inn Offers Women Travel Tips for Business Trips

Days Inns – Canada offers women helpful hints for every step of their travels
Wednesday 28 October 2009

When it comes to travelling for business, safety and security are of primary concern for women. Before hitting the road, it's a good idea to plan ahead and get familiar with the destination. Days Inns -- Canada offers women helpful hints for every step of their travels.

Hotel Selection: Look for female-friendly accommodations close to your meeting or event that belong to a reputable chain like Days Inn. An excellent choice for business travel, Days Inn hotels offer a host of business amenities including free high-speed Internet access in every room.

Trust Your Instincts: Make smart choices and use your common sense. Ask for your room to be located close to an elevator and away from exits. Don't be afraid to refuse a room and avoid booking a ground-floor room or a room that has easy access from outside. There is additional comfort in knowing you are secure, that you collect Wyndham Rewards with every stay at Days Inns -- Canada. And remember to always keep your room double locked and be sure to use the deadbolt.

Privacy Please: When travelling alone, simply keep a low profile. Use covered luggage tags and include your office address instead of your home address. Check-in using your last name and first initial only. Inform the hotel not to release your information to anyone and ask them not to deliver any packages to your room.

Know Before You Go: Plan out your trip before travelling in a rental car. Get directions ahead of time and do not expose a map in your car with a marked destination. Before you leave for your business meeting or event, check out the Days Inns -- Canada Route Planner for great rates on www.daysinn.ca and suggested route ideas.

Safeguard Travel Essentials: Make two copies of important travel documents - carry one copy with you but be sure to pack it separately from the originals. Leave the other copy at home with friends or family. Carry only one credit card and don't keep all your money in one place.

How Hotel Guests Perceive the Fairness of Differential Room Pricing
When customers perceived hotel revenue management practices to be fair, they are more likely to be satisfied with the hotel and are more likely to return to that hotel in the future. In this survey of 815 people, we examined the effects of three factors on the respondents' assessment of the fairness of hotel rate policies. Those three factors were familiarity with the practice, provision of information about the practice, and the brand class of the hotel. Of those three, we found that familiarity with a pricing practice was far and away the most important factor affecting perceived fairness. The implication is that revenue managers should focus their efforts on increasing guests' familiarity with their pricing practices. (PDF Document)
